Oral-Z is used to treat zinc deficiency or conditions causing excessive zinc loss. Zinc deficiency may result from inadequate dietary intake or poor absorption, while increased zinc loss can occur due to trauma, burns, diarrhea, or protein-losing conditions. Supplementation should continue until clinical improvement is observed, and in cases of severe malabsorption, metabolic disorders, or chronic zinc loss, therapy may need to be prolonged.

Tetracyclines and zinc: Co-administration may reduce the absorption of both drugs.
